Our client is looking for a driven Senior Claims Broker & Team Leader to join their Insurance team. The goal of the role is to ensure the Claims Department provides a high quality and reliable claims service to our customers and colleagues, as well as ensuring the department runs well and efficiently and supporting team members.
What will you be doing as Senior Claims Broker and Team Leader?
Management:
To deal with high premium complex or problematic clients providing superior service
To train members of the team on designated files and specialised areas
To carry monthly out one to ones and appraisals of staff
To manage department workflows
To complete file audits
To act as a referral point on claims matters with management
To maintain post counts, workflows, delegation of new clients and implement any procedure changes
Claims Handling:
Upon receipt of new claim notification check that the appropriate cover is in force prior to notifying insurers. If cover is in doubt refer immediately to the Director
Ensure day to day handling of claims, that all aspects of a claim are considered at all times and that any implications taken in to account when deciding the appropriate course of action. Keep all relevant parties informed
Issue prompt acknowledgement in respect of all new claims
Create entries and update financial records on TAM
Produce and present reports, registers and statistical information as and when required by clients, service inspectors, insurers or colleagues. This will include weekly claims update for Service Inspectors and Broking Staff, the production of quarterly claims analysis and attendance at quarterly claims meetings
What experience / skills our client is looking for?
Knowledge of FCA rules and guidelines relating to commercial/private customers
Knowledge of general insurance and its underlying legal principles
Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies dealt with
Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of insurance, claims and related issues through formal and informal learning both internal to the firm and externally
Supervisory and appraisal skills
