Our client is a Precision Engineering Company looking to add a CNC Programmer, Setter Operator to their team. Working on a a variety of CNC Machines, mainly on small varied batch work for a variety of industries to include: Defense, Aerospace and Automotive

Machines used:

  • Turning (Takisawa, Nakamura, Victor, Femco),
  • Milling (Hurco & Brother)
  • Working to tight tolerances.

Working 2 shifts (7 to 3.30, 2.30 to 10.30, and nights as and when required 10 – 8 (only 4 shifts per week paid 39 hours).

Experience required:

Computer Numerical Control Turning setting, programming and operating experience within precision engineering

CNC Milling setting and operating experience in addition would be preferred but isn’t essential

Market rates of pay with the opportunity for mid-week and weekend overtime, an additional performance and quality bonus scheme operated. 6% productivity/quality bonus applied to gross wages (inc overtime).

The Opportunity

The role is to support the growing product team. Responsible for managing all aspects of the safety, product lifecycle and quality of products and supply base.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop Quality Management Plans for all new ranges, to implement required quality audits, product testing and product inspections to provide an end quality process
  • Work closely with other departments including Product Development and Sourcing teams to ensure Quality is central in all new range development
  • Manage the Quality relationships with Asia suppliers
  • Maintain up-to-date records for all Quality activity, including factory audit reports, test reports and inspection reports. Responsibility over central Product data and information filing.
  • Identify safety and quality requirements for product ranges of new catergories
  • Review all third service providers reports an communicate same internally
  • Review Audits of all potential new suppliers and factories
  • Provide quality/Technical support to internal team taking appropriate actions as required
  • Aid with Instruction Manual creation and verification

Essential Skills

  • Qualification in Product Technology or related discipline or equivalent ‘time spent’ experience
  • Relevant experience working in manufacturing,retail or a trading company
  • Good knowledge in various product catergories, a GPSR understanding is more critical in this multi-disciplined role
  • Ability to read and interpret test reports
  • Ability to follow and maintain critical paths
  • Proficiency in European standards
  • Familiar and solid working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT)

Electrical Supervisor – Vehicle Re – Power

The role:

To lead the electrical scope of work in the conversion of commercial vehicles into electric or hybrid electric vehicles. The position will be working primarily at the Rotherham facility and will play a key role in the integration of electric and hybrid drive systems into a range of commercial vehicles including trucks, buses and off road vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Checking the electrical condition of existing vehicles prior to conversion
• Commsioning and flault finding on base vehicle electrical systems and installated re-power systems
• Using CAN tools and other PC based software tools for diagnostics and system programming
• Generating BoMs of material for electrical installations
• Promote safe working practices and lead by good example
• Supervision and development of shop personnel
• Support the planning and prioritising of workload to meet deadlines
• Maintenance of work instructions, skills matrix and risk assessments

The company develops and manufactures oil condition monitoring products and systems which are used by leading engine and gearbox and equipment manufactures across the globe to reduce their operating costs.

The Role -:
As Technical Service / Product Manager you will be located at Sheffield reporting directly to the Managing Director.
You will be responsible for ensuring products are developed and manufactured to the highest standards along with liaising with and supporting customer to deploy and use products across a wide range of equipment.
This will involve managing both internal and external project with a high focus on customer service.

Your sole objective will be to ensure that customers are able to maximise their benefit from the product range.
This will entail working with them to ensure that the equipment is correctly installed and the resulting data is captured, correctly and interpreted and managed.

This will involve remotely assisting customers with creating viable systems that enable products to be installed on a wide variety of large and complex equipment and the ensuring that the data delivers the expected benefits.

Candidates ideally should have the following -:

Man management experience.
An electronic engineering background with a minimum of a degree in an electronic engineering discipline.
Highly proactive, energetic attitude with a disciplined and structured work style.
A good understanding of project life cycles and project management.
An innate desire to deliver the highest level of customer support and service.
An understanding of mechanical engineering would be desirable but not essential.
