Andy File Associates are working as a recruitment business with regards this permanent position on behalf of our client.

Site Services Engineer (Mechanical)

Role Purpose and scope

• Planned service on vacuum tube lifting systems (installed in all industries)
• Planned service on powder processing machines (Sack handling/opening machines)
• Planned service on Pharmaceutical Handling equipment
• Planned installations of our client’s equipment on site (UK and Overseas)
• Breakdown service on all of the above
• Upgrade installations and subsequent maintenance
• Training of operators
• Working overseas as necessary – representing the company on site is very important
• Management of van stock parts
• Completing written reports in a timely manner on service visits to enable invoicing of parts, labour and mileage
• Providing feedback from site to our client on problem issues on design and manufacture
• Support of the CSD office during holiday/sickness periods
• Support of the spares production facility as required
• Supporting each other when on site to provide input of experience
• Assistance with offloading and loading of goods as required
• Assisting the MHD and Pharma teams on production as required
• Completion of timesheets
• Completion of expenses claims
• Management of tools on site
• Driving to site safely and planning trips efficiently in adherence to Government driving/ work times
• Management of van service/ repair schedules
• Commissioning of our client’s equipment on site (UK and Overseas)

Breadth of responsibility
All defined processes and tasks that support the delivery of agreed quality and performance standards of customer service to ensure performance that achieves our client’s business objectives for volume and revenue generation on a monthly, annual and ongoing basis. Preparation of all reporting to set KPI’s

Limits of authority
On site you may have to make important decisions that will effect the performance and safety of customers installed equipment and this must never be taken lightly – always refer back to a senior person or manager if in doubt.

Attributes Desirable/essential

Qualifications – Higher level education with customer service bias

Experience
Dealing with customers and working closely with managers/or line manager and other Site Services Engineers
Knowledge
• Knowledge of the Field Services processes, systems and quality measurements.
Skills
• Top level ambassador for the company with customers in the UK and Overseas
• Good timekeeping – reliability
• High quality of work – ability to meet deadlines
• High level of engineering skills
• Ability to write reports, complete timesheets, expenses claims in a timely manner and to work to company rules on claims and booking of time on jobs
• Excellent product knowledge – training provided in the areas where no experience exists
• Ability to solve problems on site in a logical and safe manner
• Good communication skills internally and externally
• Good current knowledge and practice of health and safety on site
• Good driving skills and knowledge of health and safety practices whilst driving at work
• Fork Lift Truck certificate
• National Safety Passport
• Minimum NVQ level 2
• Ability to read engineering drawings/pneumatic drawings
• UK passport

Salary – Dependent on experience
Pension
3% of salary level
1% contribution paid by employee
Westfield – Level 1 – taxable benefit

Expenses and Overseas Working Allowances

Hours of work
40 basic hours per week
Overtime to suit
Flexible to suit site visits
30 minutes lunchbreak (unpaid)
2 x 10 minute tea breaks (paid)
Holidays
23 days per annum + statutory days
