Finance Manager

Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00

Annual Leave: 20 days plus stats

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a very successful family owned trade retail business, the opportunity is unique as it will really allow the successful candidate to utilise all their skills and expertise, it’s a full 360 financial management role that will make you an integral part of the business.

Reporting to the Managing Directors , the ideal candidate should be well experienced across all disciplines of accounting and finance, with a proven track record of working within £5million pound Plus turnover company.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements for the business , monthly management accounts and VAT, end of year
  • Working with multiple revenue streams coming into the business, online sales, market place, trade, and counter sales
  • Prepare timely & accurate management reporting for local management team & sales network
  • Responsible for 1 direct report
  • Administer payment proposals, contracts within authority, legal documents e.g. bank authorities
  • Analysis of business expenditure
  • Dealing with VAT returns and any necessary communication with HMRC alongside chartered accountancy firm
  • Deliver business reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as well as all non-financial data
  • Maintain cash-flow forecast and manage cash position accordingly
  • Credit control /sales ledger overseeing the minimising of outstanding debt, ensuring customs pay to credit terms, chasing payments via telephone & email, resolutions of invoice queries with sales team, raising credits, setting up new customer accounts and agreeing terms
  • Purchase ledger, matching supplier delivery notes to invoices, inputting invoices, resolutions of invoice queries with purchasing team, payment of purchase invoices via online banking, bank reconciliations, running a cash book and overall management of company finances

Essential

  • Professional qualification AAT level 4 or equal industry experience
  • Working knowledge of full ERP systems
