Business Development Manager – reporting to Head Intermediary Relations

Salary is up to £60k plus bonus

Location is West Midlands Leicester/Coventry

Job Role

  • Augment our client’s retail business by sourcing and marketing of Retail Products, predominantly Buy to Let (BTL) Mortgages while ensuring seamless end to end customer experience
  • Pursuit of new business opportunities through appropriate networking channels and by promoting customer/community awareness of the client’s products and services

Responsibility

  • Deliver superior service to the brokers or customers and to persuade them to place their business with our client
  • Self-generate appropriate new business for targeted market
  • Be responsible for achieving established individual and company targets through active involvement/participation in sales management in conjunction with the Head Intermediary Relations
  • Establish and maintain relationship with the broker while keeping them apprised of products and lending criteria
  • Communicate the salient features of the products and to ensure that the criteria is understood by them
  • Arrange and attend business meetings and other business/social events to promote brand awareness and identify and target new sales opportunities
  • Undertake networking activities (during and outside of normal working hours/days) to promote the brand by building excellent working relationships with Brokers, Networks and other stakeholders
  • Act as key account manager to mortgage brokers/network where appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and to keep up to date with policies and relevant regulatory guidelines and issues
  • Efficiently manage business pipeline by appropriately diarising and following up on leads
  • Appropriate and effective administration, monitoring, reporting, communication and liaison
  • Set and manage the expectation of the broker / customer to explore possibility of repeat business from clients
  • Support brokers in keying of cases and ensure quality business is placed
  • Introduce new brokers and Networks to capture bigger share of the market
  • Undertake any other responsibilities as delegated by the line managers

Competency

  • Proven strong relationship management and business development capability
  • Track record for exceeding varied targets
  • In depth experience of Retail lending products such as Buy to Let Mortgages & commercial lending
  • Familiar with mortgage marketplace, with a proven record of building and maintaining such a customer base
  • Considerable experience of building a client base using internal and external networks
  • Liaise with other stakeholders including Products, Underwriting, Intermediary business delivery, Credit Admin etc.
  • Understanding of the impact of the regulatory environment on the Business
  • Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle
