Assistant Manager – Relationship Officer
Based in either Southall or Hounslow branch, this role reports into the Area Branch Manager
Location: Southall/Hounslow
Salary: up to £35k+ dep. on exp.
Job Role
- Deepen and manage relationships with existing customers
- Undertake business development / networking activities in order to source and onboard new customers
- Increase growth in all focus areas and assist the branch in meeting its sales and service targets
Responsibility
- Develop successful relationships with introducers and other relevant market contacts
- Responsible for enhancing branch sales through the tenacious identification and pursuit of new business opportunities and by the cross selling of products to existing clients
- Responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining banking relationships through personal and client referrals, internal networks and corporate relationships
- Identify and pursue opportunities to cross- sell products and services to assist with the achievement of branch targets
- Promote and attend branch’s business development events and initiatives
- Action new lending requests (buy to let & commercial) and initially analyse credit worthiness
- Undertaking Personal Banker duties within the branch as and when required
- Responsible for undertaking any other duties as delegated by the Area Branch Manager or so designated senior officer
Competency
- Experience in promoting and referring lending products, especially Buy to Let and Commercial Real Estate
- Build a good knowledge of all our client’s products and be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver growth against agreed business targets
- Ability to successfully network in the community in order to promote our client’s products & services
- Proven influencing, negotiating and communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships and promote understanding and trust
- CeMAP or similar mortgage qualification would be advantageous however not essential
Key Interactions/Networks
- Works closely with all stakeholders within the branch, retail credit and external stakeholders e.g. solicitors and surveyors
- Will be involved in external activities such as customer visits, events, and corporate visits
Person Specification
- Innovative – identifies and develops opportunities for business growth and has the ability and drive to make things happen
- Customer Servicing and Sales experience with a passion for high achievement is essential
- Strives for quality – applies process and discipline towards optimising performance
- Banking experience and knowledge of a second language would be an advantage
