Purpose of Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding company that specialises in commercial property design & build, refurbishment, expansion, relocation, office furniture supply and facilities management. You  will be required to take full responsibility for all project activity and provide support to commercial directors and  to maintain relationships with clients, contractors and other suppliers on an on-going basis. The position will be partially office based with regular site visits throughout the UK. The applicant will have the opportunity to develop in to part of the senior management team.

 

Key Duties:

To provide comprehensive project management for construction schemes up to a value of circa £1M per project

 

The role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Planning and organising all facets of a multi-disciplined project, this includes:
    • ground investigations & site preparation
    • ground works
    • steel Erection, cladding & roofing
    • civil works
    • fit out
    • M&E (including utility upgrades)
    • ICT
    • FF&E
  • Cost management and tendering of large & small projects
  • Managing client expectations through clear communication channels
  • Consulting with other professionals about design and construction methods
  • Liaising and building strong relationships with sub-contractors
  • Meticulously managing project budgets
  • Managing the supply chain to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Negotiating with contractors, suppliers and other professionals;
  • Ensuring projects are legislation compliant
  • Dealing with all aspects of Health & Safety and CDM
  • Controlling a project from start to finish
  • Regular site visits to check on progress, ensuring that the project is running on time and to budget;
  • Resolving problems and issues that arise during construction;
  • Ensuring that the environmental impact of the project is managed.
  • Being responsible for all project work from concept to completion with the assistance of  a support team

Essential/Desirable Experience:

  • Comprehensive experience in construction ad fit out project management
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations
  • Experience of complex construction budgets and market rates
  • Experience in a similar role and environment
  • Sound knowledge of construction techniques and materials
  • Experience in working on complicated multi-faceted projects
  • Ideally qualified in Health & Safety with a NEBOSH diploma
  • Comprehensive experience of CDM
