Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interpret requirements from work route cards, implement actions and completing test piece manufacture and testing in both metallography and mechanical testing ensuring that all work is done in line with Health and safety and quality standards.
• Maintain turnaround times in line with KPI targets
• Assist with the training of operatives in the use of equipment where capable
• Complete daily calibration checks take place.
• Assist internal auditing team with audits
• Sign off certificates when required and within defined responsibilities
• Deputise for other team members when required.
• Complete reports and other information as required for data interpretation
• Deputise for Test House Technical Manager as required.
Essential:
Educated to A level standard of similar in science based subject or suitably experienced in laboratory environment
Good IT skills
Ability to work in a team
Desirable:
Supervisory experience

Our client is growing through a phrase of growth and is looking for a NDT Technician to join their already successful team.
They have an excellent opportunity for a Technician to join our Non-Destructive Testing Team in Sheffield.
Reporting to the Finishing Manager, you will be responsible for aspects of non-destructive testing including, ultrasonic, dye-penetrant, magnetic particle inspection and testing and visual and dimensional inspection. You will also be required to mark and pack goods for despatch.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have PCN level 2 magnetic particle, ultrasonic and dye-penetrant inspection qualifications for forged products. You should also have a good working knowledge of technical documentation, positive material identification, final dimensional inspection. It would be beneficial to have PNC level 2 visual inspection, overhead pedant crane and fork lift truck licences with recent experience. You must have excellent attention to detail and be capable of interpreting customer and international specifications.
In addition, you should have sound decision making skills, excellent organisational skills and a flexible and proactive approach to work.

Reporting the Production/Engineering Manager you will be responsible for producing one off electronic/electrical assemblies and test fixtures. You will also be required to assist in routine maintenance of test fixtures and some vehicle integration work.
Duties Include:
Assembly of electronic and electrical assemblies and test fixtures.
Manufacture of bespoke cable looms
Soldering and PCB rework
First article builds and assisting in New Product Introductions.
Person

Experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment.
Appreciation of quality systems.
Excellent dexterity and the ability to work on precision assemblies.
A good level of IT literacy.

Formal electrical/electronic qualification (ONC-HNC level+).
