Material Controller

Andy File Associates Ltd are working on behalf of their client as a recruitment agency with regards this permanent vacancy.

Description of role:

Newly created role to develop the current production planning and purchasing processes in this rapidly growing business.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Management of works orders from creation to closure
• Purchasing and despatch
• Support the Project Manager in developing and maintaining the Master Schedule
• Identify opportunities for improvement across the entire re-power process
• Co-ordinate the change management process on behalf of re-power
• Stores duties as assigned, maintaining efficient stock levels
• Carry job tasks safely using good working practices
• Ensuring day to day issues with Production/Engineering/Quality/Purchasing/Stores are progressed, resolved with preventative actions in places to stop reoccurrence
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

• Pro-active, innovative with the ability to thrive in challenging environments
• Experience as a Production Planner/Buyer in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Proven knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
• Experience with a variety of production processes and equipment
• Must be hard working, and be able to work under pressure with the ability to manage specific details to tight deadlines
• Ability to prioritise, organise and liaise across all departments
• Customer focused
• To be analytical, diligent and thorough, seeing tasks through to the end
• To be an excellent communicator across all levels of the business
• To have excellent time management skills and to be organised and able to prioritise
• To have excellent Microsoft Office IT skills especially Excel
• Ability to read and interpret detail and assembly drawings
