Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment business on behalf of our client with regards this temporary position.
Overview
- Working in a small team, of 6 full – time machinist 1 full -time cutter, and 1 supervisor
- Working with clothing
- Re purposing men’s shirts into ladies tops and men’s jeans into ladies shorts, amongst other things, which means we have issues of fitting pieces together and making a nice looking, wearable garment
- Working with retailers and also independent customers, also having their own shop
Brief duties and responsibilities:-
- Working with a team of machinist and cutters to produce good quality sale able products
- Responsible for keeping areas and machines clean at all times and general housekeeping
- Checking quality of work continuously
- Working to a work plan set out by supervisor to meet critical path requirement
- Ability to lockstitch, overlock, coverseam
- Attach buttonhole and use of a circular hand cutter would be a bonus
- There can be some lifting involved

Reporting to:– Factory Supervisor
We would also be interested in applicants who may not have experience with commercial sewing but have an interest in sewing.
37 hrs per week – Full time temporary to permanent
8-5pm Monday to Thursday, 8-1.30pm Fridays
Location: Barnsley
