Maintenance Electrician

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Maintenance Electrician to our client’s already successful business.

 

Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 40 hours per week, reasonable overtime a requirement, there may be a requirement to work at weekends especially during production shutdowns.

Mornings 6.00am to 2pm – paid 30 minutes break

Afternoons 12.00pm to 8pm – paid 30 minutes break

Proactive approach to maintenance to suit candidate with ambitions to develop role

 

Essential

Apprentice trained maintenance engineer with electrical bias

Experience in heavy industrial environment

NVQ Level 3 in electrical engineering or equivalent

18th Edition wiring regulations (would take 17th edition)

Have experience in fault finding, wiring and instrumentation work, preventative maintenance (PPM) reactive maintenance

Fault finding on PLC

 

Ideal

PAT testing (electrical Inspection and testing)

Element of multi skilled working an advantage (hydraulic and pneumatic experience)

 

Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks
  • Installation of new plant
  • Planning electrical maintenance tasks for completion during the shutdown
  • Development and upgrading of existing equipment
  • Good knowledge of safety and permit to work systems
  • Reactive Maintenance
  • PAT testing
  • Inspection and testing of electrical equipment

Senior Field Service Engineer

Andy File Associates Limited are working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.

Our client is looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their existing team of engineers in order to service their growing network. Reporting directly to the Head of Commissioning, this challenging role will require a well-rounded engineer with experience and a good understanding of mechanical equipment, electrical installations and control systems in industrial applications.

You will be responsible for the safe execution of preventive maintenance tasks as well as providing a rapid response to any system malfunctions in order to minimise station down time. The ideal candidate will have experience of using technical documentation such P&IDs, electrical diagrams, control logic flow diagrams, equipment datasheets, etc. to support fault diagnosis.  You will be comfortable travelling to client sites.

You will have experience in the operation and servicing of industrial equipment for the process industries. Familiarity with the operation of PLC control systems is also highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will be expected to demonstrate a very good understanding of safe working practices whilst working at industrial sites. The job holder will be required to obtain a safety passport as part of the extensive training provided by our client.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience as a field services engineer or similar role
• Mechanical / Electrical HNC/HND /higher qualification or time served engineer in both disciplines
• 16th/17th /18th edition or similar electrical training
• Experience of performing preventive maintenance and equipment diagnosis and repairs in the process industries
• Experience of sensor inspection and calibration
• Health and Safety conscious
• Full, UK driving license

Desirable experience and qualifications:

• Experience working with PLC control systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and high pressure gas systems
• Experience and qualifications related to the maintenance and repair of ATEX equipment

Benefits include:

Competitive salary + Day Rate when working away, this equates to approximately 20% on top of basic salary (approx. £6,500-7000).
Pension payable of 5% contributory after 3 months.
