The Role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Quality Manager to join an innovative Engineering company based in Sheffield on a permanent basis.
My client is a rapidly growing business in a high tech green industry and due to continued growth they require a Quality Manager to join the business.
As the Quality Manager you will lead the Quality Department by ensuring that the company’s processes operate in accordance with the Quality Management System, and that all products and services comply with quality requirements
Reporting to: the Operations Director
Key Responsibilites
* Develop and implement a plan for accreditation of:
– ISO 9001:2015
– H & S – OHSAS 18001
– Environment – ISO 14001:2015
– Automotive – ISO/TS 16949
* Set-up and co-ordinate internal quality management systems and processes
* Investigate customer returns
* Utilisation of six sigma/ lean tools to increase efficiency and improve site quality
* Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality
* To champion the development of a “quality comes first” culture through transparency and visibility on the shop floor
* Developing quality measurements and prevention systems in the production processes
* Develop and maintain quality key performance indicators
* Other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience of a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment
* Previously implemented ISO standards
* Proven experience in driving changes and improvements
* Excellent man-management skills, empowering those around you
* Excellent grip of quality problem solving tools across 8d, 5Whys and root cause analysis
* Experience in a similar position in a manufacturing or engineering related industry
* Experience with a variety of production processes and equipment
* Must be hard working, and be able to work under pressure with the ability to manage specific details to tight deadlines
* Ability to prioritise, organise and liaise across all departments
* To be decisive and able to demonstrate leadership and tenacity when required
* To be an excellent communicator across all levels of the business
* Reviewing customer requirements and making sure they are met
* Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
* Setting standards for quality as well as health and safety
* Making sure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards
* Looking at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
* Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
* Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
* Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
* Making suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them
* Using relevant quality tools and making sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business
* Making sure the company is working as effectively as possible to keep up with competitors
