A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced estimator to join a well established Exhibition company.
The role
• The preparation of Estimates and Tenders
• Liaise with clients and suppliers to ensure projects are efficiently costed and managed through the pricing and tendering process
• Sourcing and negotiating terms with subcontractors
• Working closely with design and production
• General administration to support the team as necessary
Skills and Experience
• Previous experience in an estimating / quantity surveying role.
• Must have an excellent understanding of all technical drawings and knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Must have an excellent knowledge of design, materials, production processes
• The successful candidate will either have experience with an international exhibition company or come from a bespoke joinery / construction or shopfitting background.

Generation of business through the conversion of enquiries into order

Duties:
Generating enquiries
Providing estimates
Producing quotations
Quotation follow-ups and order closing
Developing a customer base
Customer liaison through telephone contact and customer visits if applicable
Canvassing / cold calling
Market research
Maintaining customer records
Generate order acknowledgments
Undertake sales order review procedure
Create materials conversion paperwork as required
General liaison with production control and order progressing
Other reasonable duties and instructions issued by line manager

Hours of Work:
8.15 – 4.30 Monday to Friday with 45 mins for lunch, with occasional changes to 9.15 – 5.30 where required.

Responsibilities
- Design and estimate a wide variety of security systems to be based upon customer requirements, specifications, drawings and current standards in regards to Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control.
- To prepare proposals, quotations and tender documents for designed systems.
- To assess the security risk factors influencing the design.
- To ensure that the content of all quotations and system design specifications are compatible with the requirements of all applicable technical and regulatory standards to ensure adherence to all Company policies
- To carry out surveys in line with customers requirements; including drawings and layout of intruder protection systems.
- To carry out any other job specific duties as deemed appropriate.
Applicant requirements
- Industry experience in a similar role
- Knowledge in access control, intruder alarms, CCTV.
- To be conversant with the products and systems specified and up to date in respect of new technologies, technical standards, and regulatory standards, installation requirements, ensuring design specifications are professionally compiled and finalised in a manner which gives clear and unambiguous information to the client
