Maintenance Engineer

Currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer . You will be responsible for keeping production and Plant machinery in service as well as downtime to a minimum. The role is to work as part of a team covering 24/7 demands of the business.

Your usual place of work will be at one of the sites/factories covering Dudley and Wolverhampton. The work may involve extended periods working on the factory floor and to tight deadlines in response to breakdowns/emergencies.

A Good level of flexibility is required, working shifts, weekends and Holiday periods may be required. Training, both on site and off site will be provided as required.

Maintenance Technician Overview

In this role you will:

  • Always work safely and adhere to site health and safety policies and procedures
  • Carry out routine Maintenance work
  • Carry out TPM on all equipment
  • Respond to equipment failures
  • Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly and safely
  • Liaise with suppliers, other engineering and production colleagues
  • Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
  • Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
  • Ensure there is continuous cover of machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
  • Support in the relocation of equipment

Skills needed for the Maintenance Engineer

  • The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures
  • Understanding of Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance with a 70/30 bias towards Electrical
  • Must have a minimum Level 3 qualification In Electrical Maintenance
  • Teamworking skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence to respond positively when under pressure
  • Can do attitude
  • People management skills

Electrical Assembly

Andy File Associates are acting as a Recruitment Business with regards this temporary position on behalf of our client.

Electrical Assembler

Temporary role for the duration of 4 weeks minimum

Hours of work: 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday

08:00 – 13:30 Friday

Unpaid Lunch break: 12:30 -13:00 Monday to Thursday only

Total paid hours per week: 37.5

Hourly rate: £9-£10 per hour

Role

  • Reporting to the Electrical Assembly Supervisor you will be carrying out the following duties:
  • Assembly of electric vehicle battery packs
  • Unpacking lithium Ion battery modules from a pallet and placing them onto a table top assembly jig, Involves lifting 8 Kg modules repeatedly
  • Assembly of the modules into packs involves using a torque wrench and allen key

Assembly of Cables:

  • Once assembled, will be used for high voltage systems on an electric vehicle
  • At the point of assembly there is no electrical risk
  • Assembly consists of accurately measuring and cutting cable from a reel to a specific length (usually between 2.5M and 6M)
  • Each end of the cable has a crimp that is fixed by hand operated tools

Picking Kits:

  • Requires following a picking list of components that are identified with up to a 10 digit part number
  • Components are held line side to the job and do not require entry into stores
  • Once picking is completed the remaining stock requires counting and entering onto a spreadsheet

General Moving of Equipment:

  • Number of areas within the assembly department that require the relocation of equipment and workstations
  • Manually lifting and moving work tables and storage racking
  • Workstations are moved there will be a large amount of salvage stock that will require labeling and counting
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Ability to record data in hand written format
  • Manual handling and repetitive lifting of up to 8Kg single items
  • Operating of manual pallet handling equipment and the maneuvering of loaded battery stillages
  • Risk assessments will be in place for these roles and full supervision and training where necessary will be applied

Electrical Battery Assembly
