Main Purpose of the CNC Machinist Role:

Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, you will be responsible for setting up machines according to customer requirements and health and safety procedures. This also includes inspecting components before and after machining as well as maintaining accurate identification against route cards and good housekeeping of work areas. This sometimes includes working on two machines in tandem and working independently on your own initiative.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • A fully skilled machinist who displays competence and accuracy in all machining processes including work handling and own personal health and safety
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Work on your own initiative
  • Ability to operate CNC machines
  • Use measuring equipment

Desirable:

  • Being able to set up and program in Fanuc control

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A recognised Craft Apprenticeship
  • Educated to 5 GCSE’s A-S including Maths and English

Key Details

Work hours: 37 hours per week, 3-Shift-System or 2-Shift-System with mornings and nights.

This is a full time position for 37 hours per week, on a 3 way shift pattern (days, afters and nights)

Days – 06:00 to 13:45 Mon to Thurs. 06:00 to 12:00 Fri.

Afters – 13:30 to 21:15 Mon to Thurs. 11:45 to 17:45 Fri.

Nights – 21:00 to 06:15 Mon to Thurs.

Salary :£30 700 when fully trained if apprentice trained plus 20% on Nights with alternate days and night shift

20% shift premium payable on nights only

Additional overtime available at weekends

Machine Shop Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Manage M/S projects – Dates, issues, liaising with CAD re drawings, progress and job completion
  • Stock control of Raw material

Finisher

This role would suit those who enjoy and have experience of a manufacturing environment.

CNC Miller

Andy File Associates Limited is working on behalf of their client as a recruitment business on this temporary position.

Our client based near Rotherham is looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join their existing team of highly skilled operators.

The ideal candidate will be a very experienced setter with the ability to set and operate a CNC vertical machining centre (Fanuc controlled) for varied, moulds and fixings for the construction industry.

It is essential you have direct experience of setting and operating (programming desirable) and you must have varied small complex production experience.

You will be working nights 6pm – 6am for Monday to Thursday once training and induction is completed – 1 to 2 weeks (day shifts)

Experience of CNC turning would also be beneficial.

CAD Production Manager (Exhibitions/Events)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to head up a Production CAD/CNC Joinery team.

The role
• Proactively manage the workload to ensure uninterrupted work flow of the production facility
• Preparation of working drawings, graphics layouts and stock item pick lists for the manufacturing process from supplied visuals, concepts, briefs, sketches and existing Vector Works files into large scale print outs using AutoCAD
• Prepare CAD models to ensure the highest sustainable yield when utilising the CNC machine and optimisation of production
• A highly proficient knowledge of AutoCAD
• Provide clear and accurate advice on methods of construction and have a working knowledge of exhibition joinery
• Manage the control and distribution of drawings internally and externally where applicable
• Work closely with Production, Graphics, Design and Project Management to ensure margin protection and offer technical support where necessary
• Organise past projects into an easy to use library for year on year recall
• Promote fresh and innovative thinking towards client solutions
• Regularly liaise with the Senior Production Team Leader and the workshop team
• Quality control on shopfloor – liaison with shopfloor workers, making sure they have all information required to standards set by our Manager, control drawings etc, making sure the workshop staff understands each detail and crosschecking that production is correct and in accordance with information provided
• Management and development of the CNC / CAD team to ensure output matches the growth of the department

Production Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor you will play a crucial role in the manufacture of engineered components for use in the company’s products.
