Our Home Counties based client is a creative, dynamic company with an international client portfolio who is looking for a Senior CAD Designer to join them from the exhibitions industry to produce detailed fabrication drawings and general layouts for clients’ presentations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing initial/concept layouts all the way through design refinement, to technical manufacturing drawings whilst keeping designs within budget.

You will support the Creative, Project Management and Production teams to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. You will need to liaise directly with clients to discuss amendments, additions to briefs and approvals along with presenting a final concept.

CAD Design Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced CAD Engineer to join their team based in Sheffield.

The ideal candidate:

• Must have considerable experience using SolidWorks
• Must be able to produce manufacturing and assembly drawings
• Will have strong knowledge of engineering
• Will have experience of designing pipe work systems
• Must be educated to degree level or equivalent and our client has a strong preference for a Mechanical engineering degree

Highly advantageous
• To have a working knowledge of pressure equipment, pressure vessels and the relevant PED directive
• To have a working knowledge of product design and compliance with the machinery directive
• To have familiarity with ATEX directive and hazardous area classifications
• To have familiarity with a manufacturing environment including BOM’s, MRP

Our client is recruiting an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced Technical Manager to join their fast growing New Energies Division.

Purpose

The role is to assist the Commercial Development Manager in managing electrical connection plans and technical designs that are submitted to our client, ensuring compliance with 17th edition electrical regulations and electrical installation codes of practice. You will be working from electrical specifications, energy reports and plans to ensure electrical installations are carried out to the highest standards. You will be required to attend site surveys and system commissioning tests in East Anglia.

Requirements and Skills

• Must have experience with commercial PV experience
• 17th Edition Electrical Regulations qualification
• CAD and PV design experience.
• Analyse electrical designs from specifications and survey reports.
• NVQ or City & Guilds in electrical installation
• Central Inverter and HV experience would be beneficial
• ECS card or CSCS
• Smart appearance and good communication skills essential
• Driving Licence

Workshop Manager

Andy File Associates Limited are working as a Recruitment Agency with regards this permanent position.

This position will manage and lead a team of people in allocating workload and managing the day to day operations in the workshop. It requires the job holder to co-ordinate resources and liaise with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to a quality standard.

Key Duties:

Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day to day operations.
Co-ordinate resources, (operational and human) schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs.
Ensure supplies are ordered for each job.
Assist with quoting, project management, materials purchasing and quality checks.
Ensure correct job numbers are used and that time records are correct.
Provide oversight and check job estimates.
Manage inward goods, checking quantities, dispatching goods and receipting invoices
Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Director – Operations. Report on manpower overruns or shortfalls.
Act as a technical advisor on key projects and other areas of the business as requested.
Work with the Director – Operations to respond to client’s requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.
Identify client’s needs and explain/demonstrate, which may involve technical descriptions of products and the way they may be used.
Receive and review feedback from customers and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
Work with the Directors to investigate customer complaints and concerns arising from products and suggest appropriate solutions. Discuss with team to identify
appropriate course of action.
Develop and implement systems to record, file and store information pertaining to client enquiries.
Identify staff that require on-going training and implement training opportunities to ensure their skills are improved. Work with apprentices and semi-skilled staff to role model appropriate technical skills.
Provide feedback to staff that are not performing to the expected level and ensure human resources are informed of trends in performance.
Promote a Health and Safety culture within the business.

Skills and Experience:

Experience of working in a joinery/carpentry fitting environment would be an advantage
Engineering Trade Qualification preferably Fitter Turner or Fitter Welder or equivalent
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work with people at various levels from shop floor to senior management
Can look beyond the initial customer enquiry and identify other business opportunities
CAD drawing skills are an advantage but not essential
Project management experience
People management skills
Computer literacy with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
Quality and productivity focused
