Monthly Blog – June 26

Andy File Monthly Insight

Welcome to our June update – what a month May was!

We were proud to be Sponsors at the recent FORGE 2026 event held at the Octagon. Where we were proud to be Sponsoring Damian Hughes from The High Performance Podcast.

This great event was put on by Jon Asquith and his team at MyBusinessCoach  – and we are proud to partner and to have helped by placing Jake XXX here as well as other Action Coach clients.

Over 350 local business leaders and 9 excellent international business speakers enjoyed this two day event – this was the inaugural forge 26 and forge 27 is already virtually sold out really impressive lineup of speakers great to see them in Sheffield.

Really insightful two days with an Excellent range of speakers – a couple of things really stood out for me:
1. The quality of questions we ask in business and in life – take a few moments to think about the questions and what we are actually trying to uncover.
2. The different views on the Impact on AI – is it a force for good or death knell for the modern business workplace – I think somewhere in between ( at the moment! ) – but I do feel it will force a reset on the value we place on Independent rational thought – that requires the effort of struggling with a problem, drafting, failing, and refining ideas. When you outsource this cognitive process to AI, you risk bypassing the actual learning.

AFA proud to sponsor FORGE

FORGE 2026 – Speaker-by-Speaker Recap

Here’s the lowdown on what each speaker brought to the stage at FORGE 2026 – big ideas, fresh perspectives, and plenty of “aha” moments.

  1. Professor Steve Peters

Steve broke down how our brains work under pressure ( yep, the famous “chimp” analogy ). He gave practical tips on keeping your cool, making better decisions, and leading with a clear head when things get intense.

  1. Carrie Rose

Carrie brought the creative fire. She shared bold, attention-grabbing campaigns and reminded everyone that timing, data, and a little bit of daring are the secret sauce for going viral.

  1. Damian Hughes

Damian mixed sports psychology with business smarts, talking about “liquid thinking” – basically, staying adaptable, curious, and emotionally switched-on so you can roll with whatever the market throws at you.

  1. James Burke

James zoomed out to the big picture, connecting the dots between past innovations and today’s tech shifts. His takeaway: disruption isn’t the enemy – it’s the pattern of progress.

  1. Marcus Sheridan

Marcus was all about trust and transparency. His message? In a world buzzing with AI, the real winners will be the ones who keep it human, honest, and crystal clear with their customers.

  1. Nathalie Nahai

Nathalie explored how to persuade ethically online. She showed how you can design digital experiences that respect people’s choices while still keeping them engaged and coming back for more.

  1. Suman Randhawa

Suman championed inclusive leadership, showing how diverse teams aren’t just “nice to have” – they’re a serious competitive edge. She shared real ways to make inclusion part of the company’s DNA.

  1. Kelsi Navalta

Kelsi dove into the future of brand storytelling. She showed how brands can go beyond just talking at people and start creating stories with them, building real communities in the process.

9. Marcus Sheridan

His second slot was all about how to build Endless Customers and really focused on Obsessing about Customer questions and radical Honesty wins.

10. Daniel Priestley

Daniel wrapped things up with a big-picture vision, calling AI “the soil of a new agricultural revolution.” His advice? Plant your seeds now – we’ll look back on this as the golden early days of AI.

CUSTOMER VIDEOS

We have the pleasure recently of visiting Jiraffe in Sheffield ( part of the Jenx family ) this is a fantastic company that specialises in sourcing and providing postural care equipment and support for everybody, whether they’re at home, school, rest or play!

It was really interesting to meet Ammy and three of our recently placed customer service advisers one of whom, Lisa had passed her probationary period on the day we visited. Which is excellent news!

It was also interesting to learn how this company was set up a number of years ago – Jenx Ltd. is a family run company and was founded by a paediatric physiotherapist and a product designer in 1982, with the aim of enriching lives and changing perceptions about disability. Every position a child adopts has an effect on their development and functional movement both now and in the future, and the company strives to design and manufacture specific products that provide the support children need to help them to flourish.
