Andy File Monthly Insight

How can employers get more value from interviews?
One simple answer: use the STAR method — and not just for candidates.

When interviews rely on vague or generic questions, it’s hard to see how someone really performs at work. STAR-based questioning changes that by encouraging candidates to talk through real situations, their actions, and actual results.

✅ Clearer, more relevant answers
✅ Less rehearsed interview talk
✅ Fairer, more structured comparisons
✅ Better hiring decisions

When candidates explain what they did, why they did it, and what happened as a result, you gain genuine insight into how they think, work, and solve problems.

At Andy File Recruitment, we help employers build STAR-based interview frameworks, tailored questions, and scoring tools that bring consistency and confidence to hiring decisions.

If you’re looking to improve your interview process — let’s talk.

FORGE 2026: The North’s Defining Business Event for Growth‑Focused Leaders

*We are proud to be Sponsoring Damian Hughes from The High Performance Podcast*

In a business world that moves faster every year, standing still is the biggest risk of all. That’s exactly why FORGE 2026 exists — to help ambitious founders, leaders, and teams step back, think better, and move forward with clarity, confidence, and a real plan.

Taking place on 14–15 May 2026 at The Octagon Centre in Sheffield, FORGE 2026 brings together world‑class thinkers, proven entrepreneurs, and growth‑driven professionals for two transformative days of learning, connection, and momentum. [forge2026.co.uk], [scci.org.uk]

Built in the North. Designed for Real Business Growth.

FORGE is unapologetically practical.

This isn’t another conference filled with buzzwords and theory. FORGE 2026 is designed for people who are building real businesses, facing real challenges, and looking for strategies that can be applied immediately — not “one day”.

Across two immersive days, attendees will gain:

  • Actionable insight across sales, marketing, leadership, psychology, culture, and AI
  • Clear frameworks for growth, decision‑making, and performance
  • A 12‑month strategic lens, helping businesses move forward with intent rather than reaction
  • Connections that matter, with 500+ like‑minded leaders and founders

Everything is centred on one goal: leaving with clarity and a plan. [scci.org.uk]

World‑Class Speakers. Real‑World Thinking.

FORGE 2026 features seven internationally recognised speakers, combining deep expertise with lived business experience. These aren’t commentators — they are practitioners who understand what growth looks like on the ground.

Previous and confirmed voices associated with FORGE‑level events include:

  • Daniel Priestley – entrepreneur and authority on scalable growth
  • Damian Hughes – expert in high‑performance culture and leadership psychology
  • Marcus Sheridan – global thought leader on communication and trust‑based marketing
  • Professor Steve Peters – world‑renowned psychologist behind elite performance models

Expect high‑energy keynotes, practical frameworks, and insights that challenge how you think — and how you lead. [scci.org.uk]

More Than an Event — A Catalyst

What sets FORGE apart is what happens after the applause.

FORGE 2026 is designed to spark long‑term change, not short‑term motivation. Every talk, conversation, and session stacks toward a bigger outcome: helping you build a strategy that lasts beyond the event itself.

Attendees consistently describe FORGE as:

  • Focused on application, not inspiration alone
  • Structured, intentional, and expertly curated
  • Energising without being overwhelming
  • Refreshingly honest about the realities of growth

As one leading business author put it, practical learning isn’t a luxury — it’s the lifeblood of sustainable success. FORGE delivers exactly that. [forge2026.co.uk]
