Junior Front End Developer

We are working with exciting client on an exclusive basis

Our client supplies expert technical support for the UK TV and Film industry

This unique opportunity to join a growing company would potentially suit a recent graduate who wants to quickly develop their skills and progress within our organisation

This is a multi-disciplinary role. You will have a good eye for design and composition, be a good problem solver, be able to work efficiently and be unafraid of writing code

You will be working directly with the creative director, receive training and be encouraged to push yourself and develop new skills. You will be educated to degree level and will have an impressive portfolio.

You will have a strong interest in Film and TV and be enthusiastic about working in a rewarding, high pressure environment.

Experience using Adobe Animate (Formerly Flash Professional) is highly desirable. You will have a basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, After Effects and Premiere Pro.

The ideal candidate will have experience of some of the following:

• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS and JavaScript

• Coding in JavaScript and/or Action Script
• Creating apps with Adobe Animate CC /Flash/Action Script HTML5 & Phone Gap
• Greensock Animation Platform / EaselJS
• Working to a tight deadlines
• Motion graphics in Adobe after Effects, knowledge of expressions & plugins
• Any 3D experience (C4D, Blender) is a desirable skill

• A passion for the web and an eagerness to learn

• Superb written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organisational skills

• An ability to work autonomously and manage your workload

Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, your responsibilities would be:

  • Assisting in the analysis, concept, design and technical specification of new products or new functions within existing products.
  • Ensuring that your code meets the agreed functionality specification whilst also satisfying the necessary quality, reliability, maintainability and cost criteria.
  • Running low level software tests, debugging and writing reports.
  • Maintenance of software including defect investigation.
  • Contributing to the creation of relevant documentation.
  • Assisting customers and distributors with telephone/email support
  • Devising production support applications to assist with test/calibration.
  • Development and design of customer facing software

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • You will preferably have significant expertise in some or all of the following: Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, C, C++, C#, Python, SQL, PHP, HTML, CSS
  • You will have knowledge of Bluetooth and cloud applications / database design and implementation.
  • You will be familiar with the full software development life-cycle and be able to contribute to all areas of this life-cycle.
  • You will have experience of cross platform software design.
  • You will be comfortable working to an agreed specification, evolving such specification (if appropriate) in a collaborative environment, and mindful of documenting any amendments and communicating changes to those involved.
  • You will be a versatile engineer with a genuine passion for technology, who picks up new languages and development tools quickly and enjoys exploring new technologies.
  • You will work closely and effectively with other members of staff to ensure that projects are fulfilled and customer requirements are met, in a timely, cost-effective and professional manner.
  • You may be required to work on more than one project at a time, either individually or as part of a team, so a flexible approach to your work and good communication skills are essential.
  • You must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, well organized, meticulous and accountable for your work.

Desired Qualifications:

• Computer science / software engineering degree
• MSc in advanced software engineering
