Location: Leeds                       

Pay rate: £21.55 per hour

 

Our client is an established and growing Hard Facilities Management (FM) provider, delivering specialist engineering and maintenance services across Yorkshire, the Northwest and the wider UK.

Its teams provide responsive expertise across a broad range of hard FM requirements, from planned and reactive maintenance through to compliance, remedial works, and urgent breakdown response.

Role Overview

The Cellar Cooling Technician will provide both planned and reactive maintenance services across multiple sites and sectors, specialising in cellar cooling and refrigeration systems. The role involves delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding, reactive repairs, installation, and compliance testing, ensuring all works are carried out to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Repairs, and Installation works on systems including (but not limited to):

  • Cellar cooling systems (beer and beverage cooling equipment)
  • Split and multi-split refrigeration systems
  • Small commercial refrigeration equipment
  • Heat pumps and condensers
  • Associated electrical controls and safety devices

• Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs to refrigeration and cooling equipment.

• Undertake performance testing, commissioning, and service checks.

• Respond promptly and positively to reactive call requests from the Helpdesk Team.

• Provide on-call service as part of a call-out rota.

• Compile accurate quotations for installation and repair works, including materials and labour requirements.

• Identify non-repairable issues and promptly advise the Contract Manager with findings and recommendations.

• Travel to various sites as required to fulfil allocated tasks.

• Follow instructions from Line Manager regarding scope and scheme of works.

• Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Monitor and update the CAFM system with work progress and completion details.

• Engage with Health & Safety and Learning & Development forums to remain compliant with site safety regulations and maintain up-to-date training.

• Promote sustainable use of materials and recycle where possible.

• Always represent the company in a professional and positive manner to clients and colleagues.

• Undertake any other duties required by the business and within the scope of the role.

 

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent) essential.
  • F-Gas Category 2 Certification (essential).
  • CSCS/ECS Card (desirable) 

 

Skills:

  • Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of refrigeration and cooling systems safely and efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance requirements (F-Gas, H&S, environmental regulations).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • IT literate (able to use CAFM or similar systems).

• Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
