Role
- Reporting to the Electrical Assembly Supervisor you will be carrying out the following duties:
- Assembly of electric vehicle battery packs
- Unpacking lithium Ion battery modules from a pallet and placing them onto a table top assembly jig, Involves lifting 8 Kg modules repeatedly
- Assembly of the modules into packs involves using a torque wrench and allen key
Assembly of Cables:
- Once assembled, will be used for high voltage systems on an electric vehicle
- At the point of assembly there is no electrical risk
- Assembly consists of accurately measuring and cutting cable from a reel to a specific length (usually between 2.5M and 6M)
- Each end of the cable has a crimp that is fixed by hand operated tools
Picking Kits:
- Requires following a picking list of components that are identified with up to a 10 digit part number
- Components are held line side to the job and do not require entry into stores
- Once picking is completed the remaining stock requires counting and entering onto a spreadsheet
General Moving of Equipment:
- Number of areas within the assembly department that require the relocation of equipment and workstations
- Manually lifting and moving work tables and storage racking
- Workstations are moved there will be a large amount of salvage stock that will require labeling and counting
- Good level of numeracy and literacy
- Ability to record data in hand written format
- Manual handling and repetitive lifting of up to 8Kg single items
- Operating of manual pallet handling equipment and the maneuvering of loaded battery stillages
- Risk assessments will be in place for these roles and full supervision and training where necessary will be applied
