Andy File Associates Limited are working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.

Our client is a unique ABS and provides a range of services which include advising on a wide range of legal matters including private client services, Wills, Trust & Probate.

We are now looking for a Legal Advisor to join their busy Private Client team based in Sheffield.

Overview of the Role

To communicate with clients via various methods but primarily by the telephone in order to take their instructions in connection from clients in relation to their Wills and then to draft the documents in accordance with the client’s instructionsand to provide basic legal advice.  This role would suit a graduate with a law degree looking to start their career with a forward thinking organisation.

Key Accountabilities & Tasks

  • To respond to members telephone and email enquiries in relation to all Wills and probate matters
  • To open new client matters and send out all required paperwork
  • To review client’s completed Will packs and to obtain any further information as appropriate from them by telephone
  • To draft simple wills in line with the clients instructions and make such amendments as required
  • To check the accuracy of signed Wills to ensure validity
  • To undertake complex Wills work
  • To maintain and keep updated the case management system
  • To ensure appropriate advice and guidance is offered to all potential and existing clients
  • To meet strict deadlines and to comply with SLAs and KPIs of the business
  • To perform general administration tasks
  • To undertake any tasks which may be required to ensure the smooth running of the department
  • To adhere to SRA and Data Protection regulations

  • Demonstrate questioning and listening skills as well as research

Technical skills and Qualifications

  • Legal qualification to degree level is essential
  • Experience in providing basic legal advice preferred
  • Good standard of spoken and written English required
  • Competent use of MS Word and Excel required
  • Experience in drafting wills preferred
  • Experience of working in a customer care environment
  • Experience of working in a telephone based role is preferred
  • Experience of working in an in a legal environment
  • Competent use of Case Management Systems advantageous but not essential
