Our client, one of the UK’s largest metals and plastics stockholders based in Gateshead, are now seeking an External Salesperson.
Key Responsibility:
It is the External Salesperson’s responsibility to identify and develop the maximum available potential business from every allocated customer in a way that generates an acceptable return on investment.
Key Accountabilities:
To gather, record and disseminate in orderly manner relevant information from allocated customers for use in determining sales tactics.
To be responsible for generating new and incremental business opportunities from both potential and existing customers.
To liaise closely with contract customers and Internal Sales to ensure special stocks are managed within acceptable and pre-agreed levels.
To ensure during visits that customers are always presented with an image of the company as a professional, efficient and well-organised company.
To ensure that any enquiries, requests or complaints received during a visit to a customer are answered effectively within a reasonable or agreed timescale.
To regularly identify and feed any new leads to the sales office to enable further investigation to be carried out by phone.
To understand how stock and payment terms affect the companies ROI.
Essential Skills:
To succeed in this role you must have excellent communication skills, strong face to face sales experience with a track record of success, and have excellent organisational and administration skills, together with numeracy & IT skills.
